Welcome!
Blogging is new to me, but I suppose the most important part for you is an introduction. My actual name is Rebecca Schlifer and I am the author behind Sensitive Heretic. I am also the creator of the journal series Inner World Journal.
Before getting started, I do want to put a disclaimer out there… my journey has been Heavily influenced by Human Design. Some of the information may be challenging to grasp onto for those who are less familiar.. but please, don’t let that intimidate you.
Okay.. now that I got that out of the way!
I’d love to talk about these two terms (sensitive heretic and inner world journal) and the way they apply to me.
Sensitive Heretic: I came up with this name as I was learning more about Human Design. Since I am a 5/2 emotional projector, I took the 5th line name of the Heretic and personalized it. To be heretical is to challenge the norm and become curious about a better way forward. At the same time, when I looked up the term heretic, it felt very rebellious and misunderstood (much like the 5th line keynote). However, at the end of the day, the primary reason to be heretical comes from being sensitive and using the sensitivity to bring goodness to a system or society for the sake of improvement.
Inner World Journal: I developed this journal in a time where my whole life, environment and identity was changing. In the beginning, it really was a project for myself. A way for me to tap into my own creativity and curiosity. It all stemmed from the question of: What does it mean to have an emotional wave in human design?
I began wondering what it would look like to visually track my emotions as well as the kind of wave pattern it would resemble. From here I had a list of questions to discover an answer to:
What are the consistent elements that influence an emotional wave?
What would make a wave pique? What would make it crash?
What would determine the emotional highs and emotional lows?
And although I may not have very straightforward answers to these questions, at least not in this current post, I took this as my inspiration to observe my daily life and the patterns that would surface. Not only the patterns but the entirety of my cognitive process and the way I internalized the changes and how it impacted me.
What came from this described process was the making of the Inner World Journal - a holistic and comprehensive journaling methodology and framework for personal growth, healing and transformation.
My hope and long-term vision is to begin introducing the journal to the world.
I care about our mundane daily living and the way we take care of ourselves.
I care about how we internalize and communicate our needs, wants and desires.
I care about the mindsets we have and what we believe in to actually live a life with inner peace and calm.
Yet I also believe we don’t slow down enough to really build a solid foundation for discernment and trusting in our decision making process.
This would also include the mindset of being self-ish for the sake of self-study and learning who we are from the inside out. When we can truly notice, watch, see and understand ourselves I think it helps us to break free from self-imposed limitations. But… I don’t think we are meant to do this alone, either.
I believe that there has to be more affordable accessibility for self-growth as well. For this reason, I am creating resources that cater toward any self-discovery or healing journey that you may be on. And I’m really excited to be part of this movement of change and evolution for humanity.
